AUTHOR
J. C. O’NEILL / J. C. RICHMOND
During Covid lockdown, my wonderful sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer, and I started to write a preposterous story to keep her amused. The story became a novel, which then grew into a trilogy. A Very Northern Killing is the first book in the series.
A Regency romantic thriller was repeatedly referenced in the Very Northern series, and I thought it would be fun to write this as well. One book has grown into at least five, and I have fallen a bit in love with the passionate, brave Lady Emmeline Cumberland, her friends, and even her enemies!
My books are the kind of novels I would like to read: they deal with themes of friendship, love, found family and surviving the past.
Hi, and welcome…
I’m a former GP/Family Physician living in the UK. I am both an author and a songwriter. Last year I won the Sheffield Literary Festival 2023 Novel Slam, so I guess I’m not doing too badly.
As well as working on my eleventh novel, I’m in the process of making an album with the platinum-winning singer-songwriter Sarah Jay Hawley, so watch this space. We have recently won funding from the Help Musicians charity, which will make a huge difference to us and our music.
